Back in the '60's you could race, you could rally as a head-banger hobby on an average salary. In the '70's it became so expensive that you could only continue with sponsorship. Jim Gavin (heard of that Irishman?) invented lawnmower racing, but I was long gone by then. Cheap motor sport? Forget it.
